On behalf of West Side businesses and restaurants, Lions & Rabbits Center for the Arts, and the city of Grand Rapids, welcome to the inaugural year of the Stockbridge Social Zone at Bridge & Lexington! Thank you for enjoying this communal space we have created for you.

COMMUNITY RULES

  1. Please leave this space better than you found it and dispose of trash in the receptacles provided.

  2. No smoking.

  3. For those 21+, drinks may be consumed on site if purchased from a participating bar or restaurant (you’ll know this because there will be a sticker on the side of the disposable cup!). Please drink responsibly.

The mural you see on the building needs to be finished! We invite you to join us for ColorFest, a three-day event from June 24-26 at the Stockbridge Social Zone to complete the mural.

Food Truck Fridays: Lunch Edition

Every Friday through September 2, 11am–2pm
Hosted in collaboration with GR8 Food Trucks and Bridge Street Market

Join the crew behind Riverside’s infamous Food Truck Fridays for a smaller lunchtime event on the West Side! Find three to four unique food trucks in the Stockbridge Social Zone from 11am–2pm every Friday through September 2.

MEET THE ARTISTS

The art that you can see on the ground and the building was coordinated by Lions & Rabbits and created by two West Side artists in 2021. The art was completed and installed in June 2022.

BUILDING MURAL – GHOST TOWN BY COLIN RUSSEL

The name "Ghost Town" comes from a time in my life when I was living outside of Detroit and spending a lot of time, both solo and with friends, exploring the many abandoned factories and buildings of the city. I've always been fascinated with empty spaces and those that have been forgotten. To be able to enter a place like that, to learn its history, and to try to put together some of the pieces of a place's past will always be something that I love very much. "Ghost Town" is a combination of my past experiences with my current life in an illustrated form.
