Join the Movement: 16th Annual City-Wide Community Cleanup is April 26, 2025!

It’s that time of year again—when Grand Rapids comes together, rolls up its sleeves, and shows the world just how much we care. The 16th Annual City-Wide Community Cleanup is happening Saturday, April 26th, and it’s shaping up to be our biggest and best yet!

With 17 registration sites located across the city, this event is the perfect way to gather your neighbors, family, school group, or coworkers to make a visible, lasting impact. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or new to the cleanup crew, there’s a place (and a pair of gloves!) for you.

Why Get Involved? Because our city shines brightest when we show up for each other—and this event is about more than just trash bags and rakes. It’s about connection, community pride, and a whole lot of fun.

Just for participating, you’ll receive:

  • A free lunch from local food vendors

  • Admission to the Volunteer Block Party at John Ball Zoo

  • One-week zoo admission voucher

  • Free transportation on The Rapid all day (show your wristband!)

  • Raffle tickets for awesome prizes (plus bonus entries for scavenger hunt fun!)

  • A chance to win trophies for the most valuable, most bizarre, funniest, and largest items found

  • A meaningful way to earn service hours, meet new people, and give back

Event Schedule:

  • 8:30 AM – Check-in at your selected district site (pick up wristband, cleanup gear, scavenger hunt card, and safety info)

  • 9:15 AM – Cleanup begins

  • 11:45 AM – Cleanup wraps up (leave bags at designated pickup spots)

  • 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM – Head to John Ball Zoo for the Volunteer Block Party!

Bonus Fun: Take a selfie using public transportation and show it at the party for 5 extra raffle tickets!

¡Es hora de unir fuerzas, Grand Rapids! El sábado 26 de abril de 2025, regresa uno de los eventos más esperados del año: la 16ª Limpieza Comunitaria Anual en Toda la Ciudad. Es nuestra oportunidad de demostrar cuánto amamos nuestra ciudad, cuidando de nuestros vecindarios y celebrando juntos.

Con 17 sitios de registro distribuidos por toda la ciudad, hay un lugar para ti, tus amigos, tu familia, tu escuela o grupo comunitario. ¡Todos son bienvenidos!

¿Por qué participar?

Porque cuando trabajamos juntos, nuestra ciudad brilla. Este evento no solo se trata de recoger basura—es una experiencia llena de conexión, orgullo y celebración.

  • Almuerzo gratuito de vendedores locales

  • Acceso a la Fiesta Comunitaria en el Zoológico John Ball

  • Cupones para visitar el zoológico durante toda la semana siguiente

Cronograma del Día:

  • 8:30 AM – Registro en tu sitio designado: recoge tu pulsera, suministros y tarjeta para la búsqueda del tesoro

  • 9:15 AM – ¡Manos a la obra! Inicia la limpieza

  • 11:45 AM – Fin de la limpieza (deja las bolsas en los puntos señalizados)

  • 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM – ¡Fiesta en el Zoológico John Ball con comida, premios y diversión para toda la familia!
